When I was little, I loved reading and understanding the world around me. I’d spend hours reading an old biology textbook. Although I didn't understand much of the terms at the time, I enjoyed trying to sound out words and give meaning to the images in the book. It was at this age that I became inspired by biology and I knew that I wanted to become a biologist.
I currently work part-time as a medical imaging assistant. I believe it's important to help provide care for those who need it most. And it's also important to follow your dreams. Which is why I'm continuing my education to become a biologist. I've maintained my focus on academics mostly because I've always enjoyed learning as well as delving into different ideas and topics. I believe that in doing so, I've become more receptive and I've gained a better understanding of the world around me. I look forward to continuing to learn and experience more at ASU, as an S-STEM scholar.
